Prison Project – Rehabilitation Model
Our intention is to have our prison project rehabilitation model in prisons throughout the US by 2014. These will include TheQuest bi-annual Forums followed by weekly Healing Circles. It is also our intention to gift TheQuest Self Healing System (book, Healing Journal, and 7 Step CD) to every inmate, abused women, addict, and at-risk youth interested in rehabilitation, so they can apply the 7 Steps in their daily lives.
This is a very real projection given that the Director of Self Help and Rehabilitation at Chowchilla Valley State Women’s Prison has requested TheQuest Forum be held at the prison quarterly or bi-annually beginning November 2010. (See letter in Exhibit C) This will allow us to create a model that can be duplicated very quickly in prisons, rehab centers, youth at risk, violence, abuse, and other programs throughout the US, working with other institutions and programs, including YUP’s affiliated national organization for rehabilitation, UP. (United Playaz).
YUP is a division of the national organization, UP (United Playaz), that is a youth driven and youth-led program. It provides education and violence prevention advocacy to peers. YUP has many classes and programs within prisons including self esteem, incest survivors, AA and others. IOAH has received a request from the founder of YUP (Young United Playaz), Anna Humistan, for TheQuest in all its programs at Chowchilla Valley State prison. (See letter and more info on YUP in Exhibit D). Once IOAH implements this plan, it will have a model to duplicate in all UP’s national programs in prisons throughout the US.
Our plan is to work closely with YUP leaders at Chowchilla Valley State Prison so that immediately after TheQuest Forum, inmates will be able to attend the weekly Healing Circle and continue the work. We also intend to gift each participant the complete Self Healing System (book, journal, CD), so they can continue the work.
Conclusion: Our goal at Chowchilla Valley Women prison is three-fold.
1) Hold TheQuest Forums quarterly or bi-annually beginning November 2010.
2) Initiate TheQuest weekly Healing Circles through YUP that can be duplicated in prisons throughout America and eventually the world.
3) Integrate TheQuest into all YUP programs.
This is a massive rehabilitation project and we thank you for your support!
Projected Results of Prison Project: After witnessing the success of the USM’s ‘Freedom to Choose’ Prison Project bringing the principles and practice of spiritual psychology to Chowchilla State Women’s Prison, IOAH is excited to place TheQuest Self Healing System into the hands of women inmates hungry for this information and the tools to heal their lives.
From the first moment inmates found out about TheQuest, they have been rallying support to bring it to the prison. Word is spreading like wildfire. Within the first 2 weeks, 15 inmates wrote the Director of Rehabilitation requesting to participate in TheQuest Forum. This before the event had been officially accepted or the forum date set. This shows how hungry these inmates are to be healed!
Positive effects of TheQuest Forum, weekly Healing Circle, and the inmates receiving the complete Self Healing System can include:
• Greater harmony and peace
• Quick Resolution of issues
• Healing scars that have adversely affected lives
• Anger management
• A complete rehabilitation
• Greater mastery dealing with challenging situations
• Higher chance of accelerating served time for good behavior and being part of positive programs
• Staying out of prison once they leave, which is rare
